While the mobile internet has developed at a pace, the same can't be said for the YouTube Mobile site. It's been around since 2007 and is a seriously popular place to visit - YouTube Mobile apparently now receives more than 100 million video playbacks a day, the equivalent of the whole of YouTube back in 2006. So a makeover is long overdue and thankfully, now here.So what's new? Well, much of what you like on the full-blown YouTube, not to mention some added speed. Specifically, it's now 'really fast' (YouTube's words, you might want to put that to the test yourself on your own mobile connection) with a user interface that incorporates larger, more touch-friendly elements, perfect for the modern-day mobile. It also incorporates features like search query suggestions, the options to create playlists, the ability to designate 'favorite', 'like' or 'unlike' videos directly from your device. And as a promise for the future, YouTube has said it will port any improvements made to YouTube.com quickly to the mobile site, so you'll always be up to date and ahead of native apps.It has launched in the UK today - just stick m.youtube.com into your mobile browser.
