Orange UK trials mobile HD Voice

Better call quality is coming your way, courtesy of mobile HD Voice from Orange.

Indeed, if you happen to be in the Orange mobile network that runs between the locations of Bristol, Reading and Southampton, might be one of the people getting a boost to clarity immediately as the company is running a pre-launch trial in that area.

According to Orange, HD Voice will 'herald a new era for mobile communications', virtually eliminating the distance between callers so that it makes calls sound as if they’re in the same room. That's the theory anyway - the trial will monitor whether that's the case amongst the small businesses, early technology adopters and more mainstream users who will be trying it out. If all goes well, expect it yourself soon if you are on the Orange network.

Tom Alexander, Chief Executive of Everything Everywhere, the company which runs Orange UK, said: 'The trial of mobile HD Voice is a significant milestone in the new company's goal of delivering the best service in the industry. HD Voice represents a huge advance for the customer experience, a great leap forward for the mobile industry and we're delighted to be at the forefront in bringing this innovation to the UK public.'
