Samsung Android tablet renamed Galaxy Tape

Remember the Samsung tablet we spotted a while back? Well, more detail has now leaked out and with it, a new name for the device - the Samsung Galaxy Tape.

No, we don't know why the name has changed either, but we do know of a number of features otherwise unknown or unclear. We already knew that the initial device had a seven-inch screen, front-facing camera and used the Android operating system, but according to Engadget, which quotes a 'highly reliable' Vietnamese news source, the device has so much more to offer.

Specifically, the device will be running the latest Android 2.2 (Froyo) operating system at launch, as well as offering up a 1.2GHz A8 processor, a 4,000mAH battery, 16GB of on-board storage and up to 32GB of additional microSD storage. That seven-inch screen is said to be a Super AMOLED touch-screen, which should make it a decent thing to view and for whizzing around Samsung's TouchWiz UI outdoors.

That August launch date is still looking good, so keep an eye out for the big launch very soon.
