As far as world firsts go, it may not quite be the headline grabber we've seen in other devices, but the Motorola MILESTONE XT720 is the first Android mobile phone to also house a Xenon flash. In fact the second generation MILESTONE is very much camera focused. Along with the Xenon flash, there is an eight-megapixel camera, face detection, multi-shot (up to six quick-fire consecutive shots), red eye reduction and camera shake prevention. Budding movie makers can also capture video in high definition, which can either be played back on the impressively large 3.7-inch touch-screen or with the aid of the boxed in HDMI cable, direct to an HDTV.
With the latest Android 2.1 operating system, there's plenty else to get non camera enthusiasts salivating. As well as HSDPA and Wi-Fi, the internet experience supports up to eight browser windows being opened at any one time, while the Motorola MILESTONE XT720 can be synched with multiple email accounts. Motorola also provides its own sat nav solution with MOTONAV, though with access to the Google Android Market, there's plenty more applications to choose from.
Availability and pricing is yet to be confirmed, but consumers in the UK will be able to pre-order the phone at eXpansys.com, play.com and Clove from 11 June 2010.
We'll be bringing you an early first impression, later today.
