Ok, so you paid out a hefty monthly fee to own the high-end HTC Desire Android phone, but just weeks later, you find a new operating system could take the gloss off your purchase. What to do? Easy - sit tight and wait. That's because, if rumours are to be believed, your 'old' phone could be a 'new' phone in the very near future with an Android 2.2 update. How do we know? Well, we don't for sure, but evidence is pointing to it.According to Unwired View, a HTC customer service representative was asked about the lack of space for installing new apps on a HTC Desire. His response was very interesting: 'But you never heard this from me…. A new update is coming the 23rd of June and you will be able to put some apps on to the micro sd card.'Now obviously that's a feature that is part of the 2.2 upgrade, so we can second guess that the update is heading our way on that date. At least, it is somewhere in the world. It might take a little longer to filter down to the UK. But at least you know it's coming - which means you've got a new phone to look forward to show off around the same time as your mates will be showing off their all-new iPhones.
