Perfectly timed to knock a bit of gloss off the iPad UK launch is news of another big-name tablet, the Dell Streak, which will hit the UK from early June. It's exclusive to the O2 network and the Carphone Warehouse, with Dell hoping its small size (just 5 inches) and Android operating system will create its own niche in a growing market. That 5-inch capacitive multi-touch WVGA display is designed primarily for data-based applications, offering access to the Android app store for games and utilities. Plenty of connectivity as standard too - built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G connectivity means easy downloading and listening to music, social networking, navigation, messaging and as it functions as a phone too, calling and SMS. Should also be quite speedy with a 1GHz Snapdragon processor on-board.Other features include a 5-megapixel camera, front-facing video camera (VGA), 2GB of storage and an expansion slot. Sadly it will only be available at launch with Android 1.6, but Dell does point out that the Streak was designed 'with the future in mind' and will support over-the-air updates for Android 2.2 and all its goodness later this year.Want to know more?
