Whatever HTC designers are drinking, they should buy it in bulk. The Taiwanese manufacturer is pretty much on fire these days, and has just announced its latest smartie, the Wildfire, a sexier version of the mid-range model Tattoo.
Like its five-star siblings, the Legend and Desire, the Wildfire packs the Android 2.1 software and the new HTC Sense interface, which features Facebook integration and the social networking widget Friendstream, which syncs updates from Facebook, Flickr and Twitter.
A new feature is Twitter contact sync, and a super-nifty new app, App Share, lets you, uh, share apps with friends via email, text or social networks. Your friends can then download the app via a link to the Android Market.
Hardware-wise, the Wildfire stacks up very well to others in this price bracket with a 3.2-inch QVGA capacitive (yay!) touch-screen that supports multi-touch; a five-megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash; 3.5mm audio jack; HSDPA and Wi-Fi; and a classy-looking metallic chassis very similar to its predecessor, the Tattoo.
The Wildfire comes in red, black, white and graphite, and will be available in Q3. Price and networks TBC. Watch out for an account of our hands-on with the Wildfire soon!
