There's an unwritten rule about mobile phones along the lines of them always being, more or less, rectangular. We're guessing Motorola didn't get that memo, which is why we have the Motorola Flipout.Yes, according to Electronista, that is a square smartphone, powered by Android and with a full QWERTY keyboard, which 'flips out'. Hence the name. It's a design you'll love or hate, but there's no denying it's eye-catching. Not just a pretty face either, aside from the QWERTY and Android 2.1, it also offers a 2.8-inch display and if rumours are to be believed, a 3.1-megapixel camera, 700MHz CPU, GPS functionality and Motorola's own BLUR UI.Three colours will be available (black, green and pink), but when, we don't know, as carrier and launch details have yet to appear. But we can safely assume this will be heading to the UK and in the not-too-distant future.
