Facebook is old news - these days, social media is all about Twitter, Foursquare, and Gowalla, and GyPSii was the location-based platform that pulled it all together. Now it's releasing its Tweetsii app for Android (and unveiling a newer, better one for iPhone). Tweetsii uses your phone's GPS to show where tweets, Foursquare check-ins and Gowalla alerts are coming from. You can of course also check in, post updates, and comment on other updates.
The real meat of it though, is the 'HereNow' stream, which shows a feed of updates nearby - Tweets, tips and check-ins from Foursquare, alerts from Gowalla, plus other posts, photos, and videos from the trio of social media apps.
Meanwhile, if you're an existing iPhone Tweetsii user, the user interface has been streamlined to make posting and finding posts easier.
All this info is also organised by venue, so you could, for example, view any updates and photos about, say, Soho House, and of course, join in the digital conversation. If you're a social media junkie, this is your fix.
Tweetsii is free for Android and iPhone from the Android Market and App Store.
