HP to rush a Palm tablet to market?

Now that the announcement has been made that Hewlett-Packard is returning to the mobile fold via its acquisition of Palm, expect to see HP lose no time in getting the show on the road. Rumours are already flying that a new tablet computer, to rival the iPad, is in development and that it will feature webOS, a “prized asset”, as reported by the Engadget website. HP go further than that, describing the OS as a "compelling operating system."

Don’t be surprised to see HP running out of its corner with its fists raised, ready to take on Apple and Microsoft together. Asked about HP’s investment into the Palm enterprise, Palm CEO Jon Rubinstein was heard to comment, “I don't think HP would do this unless they were willing to make the kind of investment necessary to win."
