LG has always done well with its 'affordable' handsets, which go from the recently announced Android-powered Optimus GT540 to its insanely popular Cookie (13 million sold and counting). Now it's adding to its Cookie collection with its latest, the LG Cookie Fresh.
Like its predecessor, it's a super-slim, full touch phone that's as light in the pocket as it is on the wallet. The three-inch touch-screen supports gesture shortcuts, and you can pick between a widget homescreen and LG's LiveSquare homescreen, which displays your most contacted friends.
Since this is the age of Facebook, there's also a social network portal with a special Facebook interface, as well as links to other networks. No 3G or Wi-Fi though, which could slow down the social networking thing. The two-megapixel camera has been downsized from the original Cookie's three-meg snapper, but we still have support for MPEG video and MP3 audio, as well as an FM tuner. Bonus feature is the 3.5mm audio jack, though you'll want to splash out on some extra memory for the microSD slot.
You can also download from the LG Widget Gallery, which stocks such useful fare as a New York Times live app, Amazon Search and AccWeather.
The LG Cookie Fresh is available now on Vodafone, Virgin Media, Tesco, and Phones4u.
