UPDATE: Oh dear we thought it was too good to be true and evidently it was. We've just received a call from Samsung informing us that despite the internet rumour mill being in full spin, the Samsung Wave won't actually be available for another couple of months. So I'm afraid folks it's a case of there's nothing to see here, so if you'd all kindly move along. Unless you like torturing yourself with what might have been.
Despite the belief that the Samsung Wave S8500 mobile phone was supposed to be available in the UK during May, the mobile has already been spotted for sale in the UK sporting contracts from T-Mobile and Vodafone. Click here to see a sample of the contracts on offer.
According to the OLED-info website, you can buy the phone for £366.99 as an unlocked handset and, in fact, if you choose a reasonably priced contract, it is possible to purchase the Wave for free. For example, the Wave is available for free if you take out a £25 per month option Vodafone 100 contract that offers you 100 free phone minutes and 500 free texts per month over 18 months.
The Samsung Wave S8500 is the company’s first commercially available phone to run on the new bada operating system. It includes the highly specified Super AMOLED touchscreen packing in 480 x 800 pixels and TouchWiz 3.0.
