It looks like 2011 could be quite a year for the mobile manufacturer. We’ve already discussed rumours that HTC is in the running to purchase Palm and that it is also looking to develop its own operating system to rival Samsung’s bada. Now, we hear that 2011 will see the introduction of both 5.1 surround sound on its mobile phones and HD video recording rated at a full 1080p.
Apparently, the surround sound feature has been developed using technology obtained via Yamaha, instead of the usual Dolby source and may appear on HTC handsets in early 2011. The 1080p HD video recording should be introduced during the middle of 2011, according to the Phone Report website.
But that’s not all, we also hear that, during the third quarter of this year, HTC will begin to introduce HSPA data transfer recording onto all its new phones providing speeds up to 14.4Mbps.
