The release of the next generation iPhone – the iPhone 4G or possibly iPhone HD or maybe some other moniker – looks to be targeted for a June 22nd announcement. According to the Modmvi website, “Apple has once again reserved the very conference centre where the company announced the three previous versions of the iPhone. So all signs, indeed, point to June 22nd proving the 4th gen iPhone's ‘big day’."
In an associated rumour, according to the Macrumours website, these images have appeared on the Internet purporting to be the rear of the new iPhone chassis. They could, of course, be Photoshop fakes but, if they are the real deal, then you can see the reported 5-megapixel camera (although, of course, not the rumoured front facing camera) on the top corner. The chassis is supposed to contain 64GB of memory.
In related news, the iPad has been selling so well in the USA that Apple has had to delay the European release by a month. It now looks like UK users should have an idea of pricing on May 10th . In the meantime, O2, Vodafone and Orange, in the UK, have all confirmed that they will be offering the new Apple device.
