How can you tell when we are covering a news story about a luxury phone? When we start discussing dichotomies, that’s when. When, in the same breath, we describe to you a phone that’s so expensive that we’re not even allowed to tell you the price and, if you really wanted to know then you shouldn’t really be buying it in the first price and then…and then…in the same breath, trumpeting the fact that, for the very first time, that same new luxury phone will be featuring a phone feature that is so old, so old, that the guy who used to wave his flag in front of speeding horse-less carriages in a desperate attempt to prevent early motorists sprouting nose-bleeds would not only ignore it but instruct his intrepid, flat-capped, be-scarfed road surfer to ride right over it, squashing it under his air-less, hard rubber tire in disdain.
The phone? The Vertu Ascent X. The feature? A 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and autofocus. We’ll pass on more information about it when we wake up.
