Those of you who whose interest was piqued when you laid your eyes upon the new Samsung Wave S8500 will be interested to know that the new mobile phone will be available, in the UK, on 17th May and will retail for £339.99 in an unlocked condition, according to the Omio website. At the moment, the online retailer, Play, is taking pre-orders for the new handset which is Samsung’s first design to be based on its own proprietary operating system, bada.
While the new Wave certainly takes the eye and is much anticipated, some observers are a little concerned that Samsung might just be competing with itself after the company officially announced the launch of another high-end design – the Samsung Galaxy S i9000. The features of the new Galaxy are rather similar to the Wave but it runs on the more tried, trusted and mature Android OS.
