Virgin Mobile UK has announced that it has just launched four new Android phones into its line-up from HTC, LG, Sony Ericsson and Samsung. Despite that, only two are actually available to buy at the moment. They are the LG InTouch Max GW620 which will be free with a 18 month contract and will cost at least £22 per month. The second is a Samsung Galaxy Portal which is the renamed Galaxy Spica i5700, the very same design that is due to be upgraded to Android 2.1. That features a similar contract.
Two others are due for an April launch. The first is the HTC Desire, featuring Android 2.1, a 3.7in screen at WVGA resolution using an AMOLED multi-touch display plus HTC Sense UI. Other features include HSPA, Wi-Fi, GPS, a 5-megapixel camera, a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU and a 3.5mm headphone socket.
The final phone will be Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X10. Both phone’s tariffs are yet to be confirmed.
