It seems that it’s not only Apple which has its strict regulations when its products are considered. Now it seems that Microsoft has decided to ape them by applying strict rules on the future of its Windows Phone 7 Series phones.
According to the Zdnet website, Microsoft is planning to restrict the new Windows phone to just three types of chassis. The first will be aimed at large touchscreen affairs, holding a 1GHz processor such as the Qualcomm Snapdragon and higher. Expect to see this type of chassis first, ready for Christmas.
The second type of chassis will feature a slide-out keyboard that sits alongside a touchscreen phone that will include a similar processor type to Chassis 1.
The third chassis is believed to be a candybar variant for more simplier designs.
It seems that Microsoft is finally getting serious about its mobile future.
