It has emerged that the UK office of O2 will be handling the forthcoming Sony Ericsson smartphone, the Xperia X10. Proof was recently revealed when O2 issued a web page space of possible Xperia X10 accessories.
The Xperia X10 is an important release for Sony Ericsson as it will be that company's first ever Android-based handset featuring many high-end features including a high-speed 1Ghz processor, a four-inch touchscreen packing in 480 x 854 pixels, fast data transfer via HSPA, Wi-Fi for Internet wireless connections, a 8-megapixel camera with LED flash and WVGA video recording plus Bluetooth 2.1 and a 3.5mm headphone port. Along with the usual suite of Google services including full contact, calendar and mail sync, the X10 will also come with Sony Ericsson's Timescape and Mediascape sync software.
The price of the X10 is currently unknown but observers believe that it should be free from O2 for a £40 or more per month contract.
