ZTE looks set to join the Android revolution after it put pen to paper and joined the Open Handset Alliance. The Chinese manufacturer has said it plans to launch "Android Smartphones" in the first quarter of 2010, with the emphasis being on plural. Although details of the first of these phones are at present very scare, we do have some images of the handset that shows a large touch-screen and ivory colour scheme.
The Open Handset Alliance is a partnership of over 60 global mobile industry leaders who combine their resources for developing the Android platform and compatible handsets.
We expect more details of ZTE's strategy, along with further details on their impending Android smartphones to be announced next month in Barcelona at the Mobile World Congress, but if we hear any murmurings before, we'll be sure to let you know.
