There have been a number of rumours circulating around Microsoft's Windows Mobile operating system of late. The first is that the release version of Windows Mobile 7 will be delayed. At one point that looked like being later in the year but now, according to the Bright Side Of News website, that now looks likely to be 2011.
In the meantime and for the first time, a brand new version of Windows Mobile has appeared on the rumour mill. Said to appear at the next MWC 2010 (Mobile World Congress) show in Barcelona during 15th-18th February, the new Windows Mobile 6.6, also known as Maldives, has caught the attention. This new entry is said to include full support for capacitive touch displays to help this version be more competitive with both iPhone and Android, according to the DigiTimes website.
