Truphone arrives on Android

Here's a nifty app for all you Google Android users. VoIP specialists Truphone has made their service available to the T-Mobile G1, HTC Magic and HTC Hero which will enable free calls to other Truphone, Google Talk and Skype users when in a Wi-Fi zone. Even when out of Wi-Fi hotspot, consumers will still be able to enjoy low cost calls to landlines and mobiles around the world, by affectively re-routing the call through the local network. Truphone also supports Instant Messaging for the likes of Skype, GoogleTalk, AIM, Yahoo! and MSN allowing the user to hold multiple IM conversations.

Truphone for Android version 3.0 is available for free from the Android Marketplace and will soon also be compatible for Android phones that run on firmware 1.5 or above, including the Motorola Droid and the recently announced Google Nexus One.
