Christmas has come and gone and now all you're left with are a few extra pounds around the waistline and some unwanted festive gifts. While we can't help lose your over-indulgence we can suggest turning to eBay mobile as a means of earning some extra cash and shifting that knitted sweater you pretended to be so chuffed to receive. The auctioneering site is enjoying unprecedented success on its mobile platform attracting 750,000 global daily unique users, according to New Media Age.
In 2009 alone eBay claims to have overseen £308 million spent on transactions via its mobile website and iPhone app. Furthermore, an item was purchased via eBay mobile every two seconds, with Christmas appearing a particular popular time with 1.5 million transactions made during the festive break.
Mobile users can access the eBay site from their handset, though iPhone users can download a designated app from the Apple App Store, with six million customers having already done so.
