Google Maps service receives an update

Having recently upgraded its Earth service, reports have reached us that Google has released a new version 3.3 of its Maps utility, which adds new features.

Principle among the updates is the ability to sync the places you have already 'starred' on the Maps service on your desktop with the service that you now have on your mobile phone.

According to the Google Maps development team, if you wish to upgrade your older version of Maps then, when you log in, you will be asked if you wish to synchronise your existing starred items with your Google Account. This will allow you to keep the changes made to your map on your mobile.

The new version of Google Maps is available for use on either Symbian or Windows Mobile phones (other platforms will follow soon). Just go to within mobile browser.
