Nokia has been talking about its short and long-term requirements and how it sees its business future – including the startling news that it has not ruled out selling off its entire mobile business division, recently responsible for the launch of the N900 and X6 handsets.
Talking to the German magazine, Wirtschaftswoche, the marketing head of Nokia, Anssi Vanjoki, said that it realised Nokia had ground to make up in the online solutions sector when compared to bullish companies such as RIM and its BlackBerry range and Apple with its iPhone design, according to the Reuters website.
However, it is significant that he refused to rule out the possibility of selling its mobile division. Of course, this is only a long-term possibility and the company is not about to switch off the lights to its mobile business just yet but, still, the likes of Samsung must have taken note.
