Operating system Symbian has joined the iPhone and Android phones by launching Spotify, the popular music streaming service. For £9.99 a month, subscribers will have endless supplies of music at their disposal with the ability to create and save playlists and play them direct from their handset.
Compatible handsets include the Nokia 6220 Classic, Nokia E71, Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, as well as the Samsung i8910 HD and Sony Ericsson Satio. However, potential customers can discover if their phone will support the service by visiting m.spotify.com from their mobile browser or by visiting Spotify's Symbian page which lists all compatible phones. Otherwise visitors can simply enter their phone number in the Spotify Mobile page before receiving instructions via SMS on how to get started.
As with the iTunes versus Spotify debacle on the iPhone it will be interesting to see what affect this news will have on Nokia's own music service, Comes With Music.
