Orange has joined forces with Twitter to help keep its customers even more in the social networking loop. Customers can now receive free text updates from their Twitter followers as well as the ability to 'tweet' back via text. However, if you're someone who receives hundreds of Tweets on a daily basis, you can limit who you receive updates from or choose to simply receive direct messages. In addition, Orange customers can also set specific times for when to receive their 'tweet' updates. Customers will also be able to upload photos direct to their Twitter page via MMS by positing their photos on 'Snapshot' which automatically tweets them for you allowing your followers to view and comment on them. The cost of uploading a text message will be included in the customers' price plan or at a standard rate, while Twitter alerts will be available for free.
Twitter is also the latest social networking site to be integrated into Social Life, available through the operator's mobile internet portal Orange World. Here users will find feeds from all their social networking feeds from the likes of Facebook, MySpace and Bebo.
To find out how to start tweeting from your phone, customers should visit Orange World from their handset.
