O2 customers who have an iPhone can now get the Sky Mobile TV app for free for a period of three months. The application usually costs £6 a month, but the first 150,000 O2 iPhone customers to text 'SKY' to 2020 will be able to download a promotional code that in turn gives the access to the app for free. The Sky Mobile TV app includes Sky Sports 1, 2 and 3, Sky Sports News, Sky Sports Extra, Sky News, At The Races and ESPN all which can be viewed via a live feed. The app will be available on Wi-Fi, something O2 customers have unlimited access to through their iPhone tariff.
O2 is also making it easier for customers to stay on top of their mobile spending and tariffs. The My O2 application is being developed to include remaining allowances, price plans, Bolt Ons and tips on how to get more from your iPhone. Customers with more than one number will also be able to check information for all of their accounts. The My O2 application is expected to receive an update later this month.
O2 today lost exclusivity of the iPhone with Orange beginning to sell both the iPhone 3G and 3GS.
