Sony Ericsson working on new Symbian phone

Sony Ericsson is close to announcing a new mobile phone based on the Symbian operating system that will be placed within the Entertainment Unlimited line of phones that is currently occupied by the Aino and Satio designs.

According to the Phones DB website, based upon the Symbian OS 5th Edition, the new design is called the Kurara and features a 3.5in, high quality, AMOLED touchscreen which promises more striking and deeper colours than a standard screen. A camera is available, built in, reaching an excellent specification of 8.1-megapixels. There is some debate whether the phone supports HD, too. However, that is still a rumour at present.

The Kurara should be released during the first half of 2010 but observers believe that this moniker is nothing but a codename and, when it hits the streets, the label will change upon release. There are no details regarding  possible distribution or price.
