Long rumoured and much discussed, the new mobile phone from Samsung, once described as the the Galaxy Lite but more recently named as the Spica, has finally been announced, would you believe it, as the 'Galaxy Spica'.
According to the Unwired website, the new phone will initially be launched into Russia during November of this year for €320. There have been no additional announcements for other European territories at the moment. We will keep you informed of a final UK announcements as soon as we get it.
The Galaxy Spica includes a 3in touchscreen packing in 320 x 480 pixels. This Android-based phone, that also includes a TouchWiz user interface, supports GPRS, EDGE and HSDPA for fast data transfers. Other features include GPS, Wi-Fi, USB 2.0, Bluetooth 2.0, a 3.2-megapixel camera and a 3.5mm headphone socket. Internal memory is restricted to just 200MB but can be expanded to a total of 32GB via a microSD card slot.
