Samsung upgrades F480 mobile phone

After its recent Games Edition, Samsung has now announced that it is launching another upgrade to its popular F480 Tocco mobile phone. The principle change will lie with the TouchWiz user interface.

The new edition of the F480 will be known as the Samsung TouchWiz F488i and will feature, what the company describes as, a '3x TouchWiz User Interface'. The new interface will include Shortcut Pages and an Extended Desktop. More specifically, the F488i will incorporate Online Widgets, Social Networking Widgets that will be able to interact with the likes of MySpace, Facebook, YouTube, Picasa and Flickr plus a Feature Tab Page View, the ability to upload photos, videos to social network with one click and Photo Contacts.

Other features found within the F488i will include a display packing in 240 x 400 pixels, GSM and HSDPA connectivity and a 5-megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash.

The new phone has initially been released into the Hong Kong market but observers believe that the new edition will be launched into other territories soon. Samsung would not confirm those rumours, however.
