The first official images of the new Galaxy i5700 have appeared via Samsung.
The Galaxy i5700 has appeared in numerous guises via a range of unofficial images but this is the first time that the new handset has received an official sanction. According to the Unwired website, the new mobile may be about to undergo a name change to the Samsung Galaxy Spica - although, this move has yet to be confirmed.
The Galaxy Lite includes a 3in touchscreen packing in 320 x 480 pixels. This Android-based phone, that also includes a TouchWiz user interface, supports GPRS, EDGE and HSDPA for fast data transfers. Other features include GPS, Wi-Fi, USB 2.0, Bluetooth 2.0, a 3.2-megapixel camera and a 3.5mm headphone socket. Internal memory is restricted to just 200MB but can be expanded to a total of 32GB via a microSD card slot.
The Galaxy i5700 should be formerly announced by Samsung sometimes this month. There are no details regarding distribution of price at the moment.
