3 is one of the more innovative operators - with services like book downloading and the campaign to lower mobile phone rates - and now 3 customers can now do all their banking via their phones, thanks to a deal with Monitise, the UK's leading mobile mobile provider.
Customers can receive bank balance alerts via text message, and download a mobile money app for balance enquiries and account management in real time. Monitise services can be accessed through 3 UK's 'My 3' website. Mobile banking has been tipped to take off this year, with many banks offering mobile services, so perhaps we'll soon be seeing similar offers from other network operators.
