Adobe announces new mobile version of Flash

Adobe has just announced a new version of its Flash utility for all mobile devices - except the iPhone.

For users with mobile phones that support the Android, webOS, Windows Mobile, BlackBerry or Symbian operating systems, Adobe has announced that it has developed a new version of its Flash utility. Known as version 10.1, the latest iteration promises full Flash support. IPhone users are not included within the new release schedule, and there is no progress in that area just yet.

The new version of Flash will provide full Flash with GPU acceleration so that you can play YouTube videos in HD. Version 10.1 will also support accelerometers, multitouch, and gestures. In addition, if you have a Netbook, it will support that too.

The only difference between each operating system will be the release date for when version 10.1 finally lands on each platform. A beta version for both Windows Mobile and webOS will appear this year with a full release version appearing during the middle of 2010. Android and Symbian beta versions will appear early next year.
