Google, after launching Fast Flip and Ad Sense, has just released an upgraded version of its application, Google Mobile, for Windows Mobile.
For those running the Google Mobile app, you can now enjoy extra facilities including My Location, Google Suggest and Search With Maps.
For My Location, you can receive local search results without typing your own location. Google Software Engineer Craig Wilkinson elaborated: 'Once you see the blue My Location dot with your current location below the search box, simply search for a local query, for example "Italian restaurant", and the search results will contain local business results along with web results.'
Your most recent location is stored on the server to speed up the app but this information is encrypted for security reasons. You can disable this service, if you wish.
The Suggest facility allows Google to reduce your typing time by suggesting a URL, as you type, for example. Finally, in local suggestions with Search With Maps, you can take a red pin and place it next to a suggestion. You'll then be taken to Google Maps for its location.
You can download the app via m.google.com, from your phone.
