A 60 second film about a young mans dash to a flat only to realise at the last second that he's forgotten his keys has won the Virgin Shorts Mobile Award at a glitzy London bash. Michael Mann, 20 from Dinting Vale in Glossop shot the film, titled "Rush 60" on his Sony Ericsson W660i before carefully editing and cutting it down to the necessary sixty seconds. As part of the judging team Mobile Choice helped present Michael with his award along with host Johnny Vaughan.
"I'm sometimes a bit of a last minute person and in a rush for the train," said Michael Mann who is who is studying film and media production at the University of Central Lancashire. "One day I got all the way to Preston from my home in Glossop to find I had forgotten my keys. I decided to go to my lecture early and go back to Glossop to get my keys after. In the lecture we were handed out flyers for the Virgin Media Shorts competition. I was intrigued about the new category for best film, filmed on a mobile phone with the key incident fresh in my mind. So I decided to give it a go with that as my inspiration."
