The long rumoured HTC Whitestone has now received an official name - the HTC Imagio - and will be released, along with many other handsets that support Microsoft's Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system, on October 6th.
The HTC Imagio - which was first featured here back in March of this year as the Whitestone - will include a large, 3.6in touchscreen based upon a WVGA resolution, according to the BGR website. In addition, other features attributed to the new design include a 5-megapixel camera, built in, which also include an autofocus facility. Added to the 512MB ROM and 256MB RAM memory capacity will be the global connectivity standards of CDMA/EV-DO and GSM. The design will be based upon a Qualcomm CPU that will run at a perky 528Mhz.
At present, the phone has only been slated for release into the US market. However, a release into other territories is possible.
