The much touted Acer F1 mobile phone is now due to be launched, in the UK, on October 6th. Reports say that the handset will be available for a relatively low price, considering the built-in feature list.
Based upon Microsoft's new operating system, Windows Mobile 6.5, the Acer F1 has a range of impressive specifications including a very fast 1GHz Snapdragon CPU via Qualcomm, a large, 3.8in, touchscreen display that packs in 480 x 800 pixels, an attendant accelerometer for screen changes from portrait to landscape and back again and quad-band GSM along with fast data transfers via HSDPA. If you also add the Wi-Fi facility, a 5-megapixel camera, a 3.5mm headphone socket the proposed price of £295 is pretty reasonable. A price, in excess of, £500 would have been more expected. Acer is obviously going to market this handset aggressively, according to the Phone Arena website
