Nokia is planning to launch a new luxury mobile phone in its 8800 series.
It might have been busy announcing the launch of its new N900 and X6 mobile phones but the Finnish giant has not ignored the luxury segment of the mobile market, even in these dire financial times.
The Nokia Erdos phone will run on the Symbian S60 operating system. To be made from a single piece of stainless steel, the design includes a piece of glass that hides the display when the handset is on standby, but then becomes transparent when the phone is in use. The chassis will also include a 'rising keypad' that lifts to meet the display level when the sliding chassis is fully open, according to the Cell Passion website.
Other features include a 2.4-inch OLED display, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, five-megapixel camera with auto-focus, dual LED flash and 8GB of internal memory.
