The HTC Mega has been formerly announced by HTC and with a name change for the new handset.
The HTC handset has been long discussed under its initial codename of Mega until now. However, the new phone has received the new designation of the Touch2, with no space between the word and the numeral, while HTC has confirmed that it will be launched sporting Microsoft's new operating system, Windows Mobile 6.5 - the first of its type from HTC.
The phone will include quad-band GSM connectivity, fast data transfer via HSDPA and a 2.8in touchscreen that squeezes in 240 x 320 pixels. You also get Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 2.0 plus EDR, a 3.2-megapixel camera and a microSD slot
The HTC Touch2 will be released onto the market on October 6th along with many other handsets featuring the Windows Mobile 6.5 OS. No price was released and no details of UK distribution was revealed.
