Samsung has announced that a new app store aimed at users of its smartphone range of mobile phones will be opened on September 14th.
No sooner has that company revealed that it is preparing a new, Linux-based operating system for its future smartphones than the company ramps up the pressure by also announcing a new app store for this class of phones. Initially, the Omnia and Omnia HD will be supported with more to follow.
Aopparently, the Application Store will go live on September 14th in the UK, France and Italy. After that, Samsung plans to open the Store in more than 30 other countries, including Spain and Germany, according to the Newswire website.
"With the launch of the Application Store, Samsung will increase mobile phone sales and add value for its mobile customers through the availability of carefully selected applications," declared Hosoo Lee, Executive Vice President of Samsung's Media Solution Centre.
