Samsung has announced a new, budget level, mobile phone that utilises a sliding form factor.
The new, entry level handset is to be known as the S3100 (and arrives alongside the E2120 and T239) and will be offered in either black or pink liveries, according to the Ubergizmo website. The phone is ideal as a second phone or for those who only require the very basic features offered by a mobile.
Features for the S3100, which spans 95 x 47 x 14.9mm and weighs in at 99.2g, includes quad-band GSM / GPRS / EDGE (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz) and a 2.1in TFT display packing in 176 x 220 pixels and 262k colours. Bluetooth 2.1 is available for wireless accessories and a built in camera of 1.3-megapixels is also included along with a MP3 player and email. The phone is also supplied with a NetFront 3.5 web browser and a microSD slot to increase the internal memory.
