According to reports, a new budget level mobile phone is about to be released via Samsung, to accompany the T239. The new design is apparently targeted towards the European markets.
To be known as the E2120, the new budget handset is presented within a candybar chassis and was spotted in the Samsung Germany website which indicates that a release date is near, according to the Gadget Folder website.
Taking a leaf out of the recently released Philips Xenium series, the principle selling point of the phone is its longevity. Packing a 1,000 mAh battery, the E2120 is capable of providing up to 10 hours of talk time or up to 559 hours of stand-by time.
Other features include a Dual-band GSM/GPRS connectivity plus a 1.52in CSTN display with 128 x 128 pixels and 65K colours. Bluetooth 2.0 will be useful to attach wireless accessories and entertainment will be supplied via a FM radio whilst the 9MB of RAM memory will be supported via a microSD slot.
No price has yet been mooted.
