The Samsung Blue Earth concept phone has received a new, official, designation and an interface upgrade.
First revealed back in March, the Blue Earth now has an official model number - the S7550. It has also received an upgrade in its interface with the inclusion of the TouchWiz skin. Complete with a solar panel on the back (like the Samsung Crest), the handset, according to The Best Digital website, is manufactured without Beryllium, Phthalate or Brominated Flame Retardants, which are harmful substances.
To recap on included features, there's an eco-mode for energy saving measures like reducing screen brightness, backlight duration and Bluetooth and 'eco-walk' where a pedometer measures your steps and calculates how much CO2 emission you've just saved by eschewing motor transport. the S7550 even comes in recycled paper packaging and a 5-star-rated energy efficient charger.
At present, there is no indication as to the phone's final price point but we do know that the phone will be released by the end of 2009.
