The new XpressMusic mobile phone from Nokia, the 5530, is due to be released by Carphone Warehouse next Tuesday.
The 5530 was initially rumoured during April and then formally announced in mid-June, along with the Nokia E72. At least initially, Carphone Warehouse will be the only source for the 5530. Sources say that the retailer has managed to secure a six week exclusive contract, according to the Nokia Fanboy website.
The Nokia 5530, which runs on the 5th Edition of Symbian S60, is seen as a low cost Nokia 5800 and arrives with a 2.9in touchscreen, packing in 360 x 640 pixels. Based on a quad-band GSM connectivity, the handset also includes Wi-Fi to connect to the Internet wirelessly, a 3.5mm headphone port - essential if the phone is to appeal to music fans - and a built in camera based on a 3.2-megapixel specification.
The handset will be available for £130 on PAYG.
