CoPilot drives onto the iPhone

Apple iPhone users can now purchase ALK's CoPilot Live satellite navigation system for a one-off fee, with no on-going fees or subscriptions. Working in either portrait or landscape mode, CoPilot Live features turn-by-turn voice directions, 3D maps, and automatic route calculation. To find their destination and how to get there, CoPilot users simply need to enter a house number, street or full UK postcode and the best route will immediately be displayed. Street maps are stored directly on the phone so there's no need to download them each time you take a trip.

Other features include lane assistance, signpost displays and speed limit alerts. CoPilot also demonstrates a number of 'Live' services, including a five-day weather forecast and a location-sharing feature called CoPilot LiveLink which enables users to track the location of their friends on-screen or online. ALK says real-time traffic information will be available later in the year.

CoPilot for the iPhone is available from iTunes and the Apple App Store for £25.99 for UK and Ireland maps and £59.99 for European maps.
