We recently reported on T-Mobile and Orange breaking the O2 exclusive on older iPhones, but T-Mobile is already supplying handsets to select customers.
According to The Register, T-Mobile customers on monthly tariffs of over £75 who threaten to leave are being offered official T-Mobile iPhone 3G handsets. The number of handsets provided is capped at 150 a week.
Apparently the operator has imported a number of the devices from a European distributor, and is allocating the handsets through 50 agents, and limiting each to redistributing a max of three handsets a week. T-Mobile were unable to confirm or deny the rumours. We'll be sure to keep you posted.
