Vodafone UK has surprised many observers by apparently planning to release the new Blackberry Curve 8520 mobile phone (previously codenamed the Gemini) into the UK - despite the fact that the phone does not feature 3G.
The new Blackberry 'Vodafone' variant, which is also due to be released into the USA next month, has been spotted within a scanned advertisement, via the Crackberry website, with the tagline of, "A priceless business tool at an affordable price." However, as most business figures in today's mobile market, expect swift data transfer via 3G, it will be interesting to see exactly which - and how many - business types pick it up.
Specifications include EDGE data transfer capability, a 320 x 240 pixel display, 256MB of internal memory, a 2-megapixel camera with no flash and a 1150mAh battery.
Expect a UK release sometime in August. A price point has yet to be revealed.
