The Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 has been rumoured for release for some time and images have also begun to appear of the new design. However, for the first time, a useful, side-by-side, comparision suite of images has appeared to allow a direct comparison between the standard Xperia X1 and the proposed Xperia X2, according to the BGR website.
Interestingly, both handsets are roughly the same size - even though the size of the Xperia X2's screen is noticeably larger at 3.5in packing in 480 x 800 pixels - and shares the sliding chassis offering both a touchscreen and sliding QWERTY keyboard.
The new Xperia X2 will run on Windows Mobile 6.5 (with an upgrade facility to version 7, when it arrives). The panel interface of the X1 should remain but in modified form. An accelerometer will be featured plus a 3.5mm headphone socket and a built in camera of 8-megapixel specification.
