Orange UK is now selling the HTC Hero, this despite the fact that the company declared that the new phone would be available to buy earlier this month. Orange UK is the only operator to offer the new HTC mobile. T-Mobile UK is also in the running to sell the design but has failed to announce a release date.
The HTC Hero was officially announced around a month ago and is the company's third Android-based handset. The feature list for the phone includes a large, 3.2in screen packing 320 x 480 pixels with the HTC Sense user interface sitting on top of the Android operating system. Fast data transfers are insured via HSDPA whilst Wi-Fi provides wireless Internet connectivity. GPS is provided for location finding and a built in camera is included with the very respectable specification of 5-megapixels. A microSD card slot is provided to expand the internal memory whilst Bluetooth is useful to connect external, wireless accessories such as a headset.
